Pumpkin Spice Oatmeal

DASH Diet Cookbook for Beginners

A warm, comforting breakfast option that’s perfect for the cooler months, this pumpkin spice oatmeal offers a nutrient-packed start to the day.

Ingredients:

½ cup rolled oats

1 cup unsweetened almond milk

¼ cup pure pumpkin puree

½ teaspoon cinnamon

¼ teaspoon nutmeg

1 tablespoon chopped pecans

Instructions:

Cook the oats in almond milk over medium heat, stirring occasionally.

Once the oats are creamy, stir in the pumpkin puree, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

Top with chopped pecans for added crunch and flavor.

Why It’s Healthy:

This oatmeal is rich in fiber and vitamin A, thanks to the pumpkin puree. The cinnamon and nutmeg add warmth and flavor without added sugar. Pecans provide heart-healthy fats, while oats are known for their cholesterol-lowering benefits. Together, they make a filling, nutrient-dense breakfast.
